This is the English translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung.
In short: ant fields does not collect any personal data. The app does not connect to the internet, shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking tools and no third-party software. Whatever the app stores stays on your device.

What the app stores on your device
So that you can pick up where you left off, ant fields keeps the following in the app settings on your device:
- your game progress for each save slot and campaign: unlocked and completed missions, crystals and the upgrades you bought in the workshop
- which save slot you used last
- whether the music is on or off
- which chapters you have purchased – only the product identifier, in essence “Chapter 2: unlocked”
This data does not leave your device through the app, and I never get to see it. It contains neither your name nor a device or advertising identifier. If you delete the app, iOS deletes the data along with it. If you back up your device via iCloud or your computer, the data is part of that backup, like the data of any other app; that is governed by your settings with Apple, not by the app.
Purchases in the App Store
You can buy Chapter 2 (“The Deep Tunnels”) in the app. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple. The app does not see payment details, your Apple ID or your billing address. Apple only tells it whether a chapter has been purchased or refunded, and the app remembers that on your device. From Apple I receive sales statistics that do not reveal who made a purchase.
Processing by Apple is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Statistics and crash reports via Apple
If you have allowed analytics data to be shared with app developers in the iOS settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers), Apple provides me with aggregated usage statistics and crash reports. This data is collected by Apple, not by the app, and I cannot attribute it to any individual. You can turn the sharing off there at any time.
Links from the app
The app’s settings contain links to this page and to the help page. If you tap one of them, Safari opens; the app itself transmits nothing in the process. For the retrieval of the page, the notes on server logs in the privacy policy of this website (in German) apply.
Contact by email
If you write me an email, I process your address and your message in order to reply to you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). I do not pass either of them on, and I delete both as soon as your request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligation stands in the way.
Children
Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). Because the app transmits nothing to me, in practice this only concerns emails you have written to me.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
Changes
Should a later version of the app collect data or go online – for instance to load new campaigns – I will update this policy beforehand.
